On July 2, 2024, B.K .Mercantile Bank Law College hosted a Consumer Awareness Programme at BCA Hall, G.D. Modi Campus, Palanpur, focusing on consumer rights and protection in telecommunications. The event featured expert speakers Mr. Rajendra Singh Chouhan and Mr. Maulik Upadhyaya from the Consumer Protection Association Himmatnagar, along with representatives from telecom regulatory bodies. Topics covered included fundamental consumer rights, relevant laws, complaint mechanisms, data privacy, fair billing practices, and service quality standards. The programme included an interactive guest lecture, informative materials like pamphlets and booklets, and aimed to empower consumers in the telecommunications sector. The college plans to continue promoting consumer rights through similar events. The program was organized by principal Dr. Arti A. Dive and co-ordinated by Assistant Professor Mr. Jayesh Mali.
The Law College is a self-financed one and was set up in the year 1997 offering a three-year degree course of LL.B. (General); and since November 2001 the LL.B. (Special) degree course is also being offered. At present, the total student strength of the college is 305.
